The humble getaway

Vision and Mission

The Humble Getaway is a seasonal, local retreat space in Brisbane and Gold Coast, Queensland. The aim for the retreat is to provide an affordable mini getaway to build community and connect. This is not a detox retreat, but more so a social gathering with yoga and healthy eats.

Imagine a weekend away with a humble group of people (under 10) - like minded and easy going. We pre-plan the meals together, and of course cook together to get to know one another. The mornings are meant to practice meditation, breathing, and Vinyasa. The evenings are meants for reflection journaling, yin + pins (restorative yoga with community acupuncture!) There is free time in the middle to of course make lunch together and enjoy in great company - or to venture off to the beach or have some alone time. This retreat is meant to leave you feeling better connected to yourself and from a variety of practices, energetically rejuvenated after spending time with other friendly folk, and well rested for the next week ahead!

Upcoming Events

CITY RETREAT ESCAPE

The Humble Getaway is here in Brisbane! On Sunday, January 24, enjoy a 4.5 hour day to enjoy yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, snacks and spa locally. This event is SOLD OUT.

The next retreat date is on a Sunday in February (TBA).

GOLD COAST ESCAPE

The first Humble Getaway will be held on Friday October 30th, 2020 until Sunday November 1st, 2020. (This retreat is SOLD OUT.)

The next Humble Getaware will be on December 4th- 6th. There are still rooms left so please contact! This retreat will be more of a Hatha based retreat instead of a Vinyasa style - more nourishing and sweet.

The weekend plan is as follows:

Friday
4pm - arrival
5pm - walk to the beach
6pm - dinner
7:30pm - yin + pins (restorative yoga with acupuncture!)

Saturday
7am - Vinyasa (75 minutes)
8:15am - pranayama
8:30 - meditation and journal
9:30am - brunch
11am - movement lab
1pm - lunch
* free time to enjoy beach or home, together or on your own!
5:30pm - dinner or picnic at beach


Sunday
7am - Vinyasa (75 minutes)
8:15am - pranayama
8:30 - meditation and journal
9:30am brunch
11 - 2pm - beach time before departure
