As an Acupuncturist, I see many different people looking for many different solutions regarding their health. Often clients come in for one thing, lets say, neck pain, but soon discover how many more imbalances Acupuncture can help them with. I'd like to go over this to create more understand and awareness of this complete alternative medical practice.
As I said, Traditional Chinese Medicine is known as a complete system of preventative health care. We look at the entire body, holistically, to ensure better balance within the body. Nothing can ever be in complete balance, but this is because everything is continuously growing and changing. This is the beauty of life - but we need to pay attention to our body  for when the imbalances start to get out of control. Here is a list of different imbalances that I see in the clinic:

1. Digestion - this is huge! I have worked with patients since 2013 and have seen the most dramatic improvements when working in digestion. Whether it is constipation, diarrhea, bloating, or other correlating problems including skin or moods. The process of Chinese Medicine can be a completely eye opening procedure. Why? This is a holistic approach. Not only do we just needle, we have the much needed conversation to show you your own imbalanced habits. You leave each treatment with more information and a better understand on what is happening to your body and why. Herbal tinctures are incredible to help aid digestion without ruining our incredible gut bacteria!

2. Menstruation - Sorry guys, but to all the ladies out there: how regular is your period? Some of the most healthy looking women come in with the most irregular periods. Menstruation is one of the best measurements of our health! It is important to find a balance. We work with the body by decreasing stress (which might be stagnating the blood), improving the circulation of the blood and help patients understand the dietary requirements to improve the consistency. Of course, hormone balance is involved in this process, but with a Chinese Medicine point of view.

3. Emotions - The fascinating framework of the meridians include the connection from organs to emotions. To me, this has always been the most incredible connection in my work. I cannot tell you how many times the theory has been accurate between what emotions we are feeling, and which organ related shows symptoms. Again, a holistic approach allows us to find a greater balance within the body and a better understand as to why we are feeling as we are!

There are so many more imbalances that Traditional Chinese Medicine can help with. Honestly it is too large to list. As I said before, TCM is a complete medicine meaning it can assist with many different internal imbalances. It is always important to know that TCM is a preventative measure. Understand your body and habits before your imbalances take over! Feel free to contact me if there is any stubborn problem you are looking to find holistic solutions to.

Acupuncture is one of the oldest medicinal practices in the world. The origin of acupuncture dates back to early Chinese days. Well, let us move pass its historical practices, instead, let us focus on the modern aspects of it. Today, we use acupuncture to treat stress, both physically and mentally. People are having a hard time, no matter what they do, whether it is about their job or about relationships. Acupuncture helps people cope up with all of those negative stress.

I never knew that acupuncture decreases stress that could stagnate blood by improving its circulation. Thank you for the information. I'll share this information with my wife so we can both get acupunctures.

I love well-being not only for the physical benefits but mainly for the mental strength and confidence it develops.
