New Years always brings out a fresh new start. Whether we plan to learn from last years lessons, or aim for bigger and better, our motivation is at an all time high. Some people chose to avoid New Years resolutions, saying they think they are overly-ambitious, or often argue that "should be able to make goals all year". But let me ask you - do they? Do you? I'm all about the seasons. I think we are on this earth uniquely and to live in its cycles is an important part of it. Animals, insects, the ocean, even parasites live through cycles of the earth. Why wouldn't we?
I think it's incredibly important to grasp where the goal is coming from. There are two root factors within every decision we ever make. Love based or fear. That's it. I ask you. What is your new years goal? Why is this your goal? A pretty common example is to lose weight. However, this often stems based out of fear. Fear of feeling unhappy, fear of acceptance. There are many different reasons why people fear gaining more weight. An issue with this root is that we are not focusing on rebuilding. We are instead fixating on the problem.. How could this differ? Well lets just pretend our intention was shifted to a love base approach. We arent trying to lose weight because we are scared of the consequences. Instead, we are wanting to lose weight because we love our life, we love our body, and we want to live optimally. Can you understand the difference? The fear base radiates a ton of anxiety, while the love based reason to lose weight cultivates confidence and happiness. When we do something out of love, this is always what happens. Living compassionately brings so much clarity to every choice we make. What are you planning for 2018? Goals are always personal. Write yours down. Figure out what energy you require to complete this goal. Lastly, figure out your why. Why do you want this goal? How does it serve you? If we don't remind ourselves as to why, we will stop working towards it straight away. This is an exciting time of year for yourself. Time to get busy and make your life happen!
