GRANOLA

I've really been enjoying these "colder" mornings in Brisbane! It's a little cozier, a little darker and just all around a bit more comfortable. I never thought I'd say it, but sometimes summer in Brisbane is just way too hot!
I love that with the change of seasons, my body starts to crave different meals too. It feels so much better to eat something warm over a smoothie! I love my oatmeal, but I've been trying to play around with a little more tastes. This granola is a perfect topping and can be altered every batch so it doesn't feel like you are eating the exact same thing every morning (if that isn't your thing!)

Ingredients

,Please feel free to change this up each batch! Think about adjusting the spices, nuts and dried fruit to give yourself variety.
  • 3 cups of traditional rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup of almonds (crushed, chopped, or whole to your liking)
  • 1/3 cup cashews  (chopped or whole)
  • 1/3  cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup cranberries
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon raw rugar
  • 1/6 cup oil of choice
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Directions

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Combined all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. In a small bowl, mix together oil and maple syrup. Add to large bowl and mix thoroughly. Line a large tray with wax paper and spread granola on tray evenly. Bake for 65 minutes, while stirring every 20 minutes to brown evenly. Enjoy!
