What’s the difference between the two? Before we dive in, understand this is a shallow swim. I'm not here to massively sway anyone - I just want people to understand the general difference. By searching online for “what is the difference between dry needling and acupuncture” one finds countless articles. There are articles by both TCM clinics and practitioners of Dry needling (not necessarily just physios but many), in which I feel are often arguing which style of treatment is better than the other and why.
Although Chinese Medicine is one of the oldest healing practices in the world, it is still a misunderstood modality in the west. I can’t tell you how many times in treatment I get asked, “So how do the needles work, exactly?”
Do you have a journal practice? I can't believe I waited this long to start my own. It's made a pretty big difference on my "me time". Spending 5-15 minutes a day isn't only a good time for self-care, but also a great way to boost creativity. We need to spend less time on our phones and more time exploring our thoughts!
New Years is just around the corner! I think we all get to this time of the year and cannot wait to get our life back on track. After a busy month of events and a week without routine - we really start to crave the structure we initially broke away from.
Before I begin this post, I just want you to know, the amount of research that has been done on coffee is exhausting. With so many brand names in the business, and so many sponsored studies, who really knows if coffee can effect our skin...

Working as a yoga instructor is different for each teacher. Some people work part time, feeding their passion while still working other jobs to sustain living. Others find themselves working in a full time yoga teaching position. Although I never expected to go full time, I cannot imagine being happy doing anything else.

Everyone has their own idea on how to be healthy. There are so many different variables: age, culture, gender, lifestyle and values. These all create different opinions on what health means. Health is unique to the individual. But sometimes, I feel like people become a little unhealthy about being healthy. Striving to do our best, we often get caught up, losing balance. I don’t believe that counting calories, or balancing ratios of protein, fats, or carbohydrates is healthy either. I think there needs to be a balance. It's okay to check in the macros and numbers sometimes for portion control, but not obsessively! It’s an unhealthy way to look at food. Food is so much more than a science, just as we are more complicated than a body.
In this day and age people are more like busy bubbles apposed to busy bees. We are all stressed about something, in a rush and in our own world. It’s not surprising to bump into a stranger on the street, because their eyes were glued to their phone. We are all busy – and we are all stressed.
